What a solar power plant project includes
Every solar plant, regardless of size, starts with a calculation — not with mounting panels. The project includes an analysis of annual electricity consumption, roof or plot orientation and tilt, equipment selection (panels, inverter, optionally battery storage), and sizing the system to match actual needs rather than a generic template.
Depending on the purpose, we prepare a concept design for a quick feasibility estimate, as well as a main project that serves as the basis for construction, the work notification, and grid connection.
Grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid systems
Choosing the system type depends on whether the site has grid access and how important energy independence is:
- Grid-tied — connected to the distribution grid, no batteries. The most cost-effective type for sites that already have a connection, with the shortest payback period.
- Hybrid — combines solar panels, battery storage and the grid. Provides greater independence during power outages, with a somewhat longer payback period.
- Off-grid — fully independent system, intended for sites without access to the distribution grid (holiday homes, remote farms).
Prosumer status
Households and businesses that produce electricity from their own solar plant and feed part of the surplus back into the grid acquire official prosumer status ("kupac-proizvođač") in Serbia. This status enables net metering: the energy you feed into the grid is offset against the energy you draw, and unused surplus carries over month to month until the end of the billing year on 31 March.
Households may register a plant of up to 10.8 kW. Businesses and larger systems fall under a separate settlement model (net billing), which differs from the household model.
When designing, we account for the deadlines relevant to keeping the more favourable net-metering model — currently a relevant factor when planning the timing of your application, which we check for each project individually, since the regulations in this area are subject to change.
Solar panel subsidies
Individuals currently have access to subsidies that co-finance part of the installation cost, under a programme run by the Ministry of Mining and Energy together with local municipalities. The co-financing percentage and upper limit are set at the national level and are identical regardless of municipality — what differs is only whether a given municipality currently has an open call. During consultations we check the current terms of the call for your municipality, since these calls are renewed periodically.
The procedure, step by step
- Consumption and site analysis — based on your electricity bills and an inspection of the roof or plot, we determine the optimal system size.
- Concept design — an indicative estimate of energy output, equipment and feasibility.
- Main project — complete technical documentation with calculations and equipment specifications.
- Construction and bidirectional meter installation — the contractor installs the system according to the project.
- Application to the distribution operator — documentation is submitted electronically to obtain prosumer status and grid connection.

Yes. Regardless of who installs the system, compliant technical documentation is required — it is the basis for the work notification, grid connection, and confirms the system is correctly sized for your consumption.
